How to Choose Society Management Software: 12 Questions Every RWA Must Ask

Choosing the wrong society management software costs you in two ways — wasted budget and resident frustration. Use these 12 questions as a checklist before you sign any contract.

1. What is the per-flat per-month price after taxes and add-ons?

Insist on an out-the-door price. Many vendors quote a base plan and charge extra for branding, payment gateway, SMS, WhatsApp, audit reports and integrations.

2. Is onboarding and data migration free?

Switching from MyGate, NoBroker Society or Excel should not cost you anything. Confirm in writing.

3. How long does it take to go live?

A modern society management platform should go live in 3–7 days, not 3 months.

4. Is the resident app ad-free?

Ask for screenshots. Ad-free experience matters for resident adoption.

5. Does it support commercial complexes?

You should be able to export all data (residents, vehicles, billing history, complaints) in CSV at any time, free of charge.

11. Is there an iOS app and a web admin?

Android-only is not enough in 2026. Confirm both iOS and a web admin dashboard.

12. Can we run a 14-day free pilot in one block?
